Our 15-year-old furnace stopped working on a cold Saturday evening in December. I called Enercare that evening (not having a protection plan in place with them) hoping they could help - they sent a technician on Sunday afternoon who said the furnace's heat exchanger was defective beyond repair, red-tagged the unit as there was a carbon monoxide risk with the furnace, and told us we needed a new furnace. Given it was freezing outside, I agreed to have Enercare install a new furnace ASAP - install was scheduled for Tuesday morning. On Monday morning (the day before install), I called Naturally Gas Ltd to ask if they could offer a better price than Enercare for a new furnace. I needed to have an answer before noon that day as I needed to give Enercare around 24 hrs notice if I wanted to cancel their install appointment. I called Kevin (i.e. Naturally Gas Ltd) at 9:30 am, explained my situation to him, and he was at my house within the hour. He inspected the unit and it turned out the heat exchanger was just fine, it was the inducer motor that was not working. He exchanged the inducer motor during that visit (he had the part in his truck), turned on the furnace (which now worked), tested the carbon monoxide level to ensure it was appropriate, corrected the red tag, and that was it. He explained everything he was doing in real time and even gave me tips on how to further save costs and improve efficiency of the furnace (and AC for that matter). Not only was the job done within the hour, more importantly he saved my family $5000 in not needing to purchase a new furnace. I can't thank Kevin enough for the job he did. Kevin Smith was fantastic in that when we called regarding issues with our furnace he came right away, was extremely professional and knowledgeable regarding various options. We ordered a new furnace and he installed it the next day. I would highly recommend this company as he has demonstrated many times his willingness to satisfy his long term customers. Thank you to Kevin Smith who has now saved us two times with our Natural Gas Fireplace. 1. October 2020 - He was able to come the next day, Identify and fix our problem pretty quickly for a very reasonable charge considering he had to remove and replace more than one device inside the fireplace. 2. March 2025, Kevin was able to come within 30 minutes of calling him (Luck, is in my favour on these calls) but I called other gas companies on both occasions and they provided me with a 2 week wait for them to even come look at it! Kevin is absolutely incredible! He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, works carefully & quickly and has always solved our issues on his first visit. WOW! Talk about great service, this company is truly exceptional. Kevin, the owner, returned our call even though it was on a weekend   and he was out of town.
